It was a refreshing break to be in Patio Bleu, a restaurant in the middle of the Fes medina after walking around the souks the entire morning. I was so tired that by noontime, all I wanted was to go back to the hotel and rest. But upon entering Le Patio, I somehow got my energy back.
It was where we had lunch and I ordered vegetable tangine that was tasty. The appetizers were quite good too. But apart from my meal, it was the little details like the blue mosaic patterned plates, the white tablecloth with dainty and simple blue embroidery and the overall look and feel of this former Riad that I liked very much.
I wondered how many of its kind with finely crafted woodwork and blue mosaic tiles are in the medina. I know some have been transformed into Bed and Breakfasts. It would have been nice if we stayed in one but we were booked in a hotel outside the walled city.
I think Le Patio Bleu is one of the places often recommended to tourists. It was our guide that brought us there.
